The First International LAMS Conference: Designing the Future of Learning

Welcome

Welcome to the 3rd International LAMS & Learning Design Conference webpage. The conference was held at Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Sydney, Australia on December 5th, 2008. The conference was immediately preceded by LAMS training workshops (December 4th). Additionally, a Planner Summit was held after the conference on Monday, December 8th. At the Summit current and future issues in relation to a number of pedagogic and activity planner projects currently being developed world-wide was discussed.

The 3rd International Conference was held in Sydney after the success of the two previous International LAMS Conferences in 2006 and 2007 and two European Conferences (2007 - Greenwich and 2008 – Cadiz). The focus of this conference will be on the variety of perspectives on Learning Design. What are the differing implications for individuals and organisations? Importantly, we want to capture the experience of those who have used LAMS and Learning Design and share some of the lessons learnt about learning design in higher education, the K-12 sector, vocational and professional education.
